MCSC SAILOR'S BALL 2010
Get ready to pack your bags for an Escape to Puerto Rico on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Italian Conference Center in Milwaukee. This benefit event provides an incredible level of financial support for the Milwaukee Sailing Center's community outreach programs. The big secret is that despite the stuffy-sounding "Ball" name, we prefer to combine our fund-raising with a big dose of FUN-raising! So be prepared to party, eat terrific island food & drink, dance and catch up with old and new friends as you visit the ports of call in sunny, warm Puerto Rico!

JOIN US AT THE SPECIAL ADMIRAL'S CLUB RECEPTION!
Help us toast Doug & Jared Drake as our 2010 MCSC Sailors of the Year at the special Admiral’s Club Reception. It all begins at 5:30 pm with complimentary Caribbean-themed libations, specialty hors d’oeuvres and exclusive access to the Admiral’s Club silent auction table. As an added treat, listen to authentic Latin music from the "Cuatro Kids" of the Bruce Guadalupe Elementary School led by Maestro Luis Lopez. The Cuatro is the national instrument of Puerto Rico. An upgrade to the Admiral’s Club is available for an additional donation of $45 and all Admirals Club guests will receive reserved seating at the Ball.

We are excited to announce that father and son sailing legends Doug and Jared Drake will receive the MCSC 2010 Sailor(s) of the Year Award at the 16th Annual Sailors Ball on March 6th. This prestigious award recognizes individuals whose achievements, contributions and love of sailing provide inspiration to us and to sailors everywhere. Past honorees include local sailing heros and internationally-recognized sailing greats, such as Buddy Melges, Gary Jobson, Sally Barkow, John Ruf and other greats. Find out more about the Drakes>>>.

EXPERIENCE LATIN RHYTHMS AND DANCE TO THE SALSA BEAT!
A charming performance awaits everyone with the salsa dancing of young performers from Danceworks Mad Hot Ballroom & Tap program, an outreach that strives to empower youth to stay in school, gain self-confidence and reach their full potential through the transformative power of dance. Your evening will take a turn for the fiesta beat when everyone will be serenaded and inspired to dance to Latin music and other dance tunes featuring DJ Alan Robb’s Accent Events and there will even be a group Salsa lesson from Melinda Plante of the Fred Astaire Dance Studio to compliment the evening.
